Dow To Up Oxygenated Solvents Prices

Effective March 1, The Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., will increase the off-schedule prices on several of its oxygenated solvents products — including isopropanol, 2-ethylhexoic acid, 2-ethylhexanol, n-butanol, and isobutanol — by 4 cents per pound.

“Due to the escalating costs for raw materials, the margins on our products have eroded to unacceptable levels,” said Pat Gottschalk, global business director, Solvents & Intermediates. “ The only way to improve our margins is to increase the price of our products.”
