DOC Offers Assistance To Exporters

James A. Morrissey, Washington Correspondent

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has published a comprehensive guide for companies interested in developing export markets for their products. The publication, “Trade Finance Guide: A Quick Reference For US Exporters,” is available through a DOC Trade Information Center or on the web at www.export.gov. To find a Trade Information Center near you, call 1-800-USA-TRADE.

In announcing the publication, Commerce Undersecretary for Trade Franklin Levin said: “By take advantage of this cost-effective, easy to obtain tool, US exporters can enhance their competitiveness in today’s global marketplace and easily learn how to turn overseas opportunities into actual sales and profits.” The department’s announcement said the guide should be especially helpful to small and medium-sized companies.

The guide will be updated periodically reflecting information obtained by the department’s export information centers and from overseas posts.
