Mervyns Implements Gerber's WebPDM™
Hayward, Calif.-based department
store chain Mervyns LLC has implemented Tolland, Conn.-based Gerber Technology’s WebPDM™
product-development management software as part of its information technology systems and
infrastructure replacement strategy.
As a newly independent company, Mervyns needed to replace all of its legacy systems quickly, according to Kurt Streitz, senior vice president and chief information officer, Mervyns. Its previous owner, Minneapolis-based Target Corp., sold Mervyns in September 2004 to a private investment group including Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sun Capital Partners Inc., New York City-based Cerberus Capital Management LP and Philadelphia-based Lubert-Adler and Klaff Partners LP.
“We are proud of the speed at which we were able to implement WebPDM at Mervyns to meet a very aggressive schedule,” said Brian Kastner, account executive, PDM solutions, Gerber Technology. “It was truly a team effort that enabled us to complete a project of this scope in such an expedited timeline.”
“While Mervyns is based in California, their supply chain is located all over the United States and the world,” said Sam Simpson, vice president, global sales, Gerber. “WebPDM will help Mervyns to collaborate with their vendor partners in real-time. In addition, Gerber’s presence in more than 125 countries across the globe enables us to support their partners wherever they are located.”
